Business Continuity Manager leads the implementation and supports the development of a comprehensive business continuity strategy and programs, plans, and toolsets that support response, develop resiliency, and enable recovery from events that disrupt business operations. Establishes a framework and methodology to manage all business continuity life cycle activities, including risk assessment, business impact analysis, strategy development, implementation, testing and review, plan maintenance and updates. Being a Business Continuity Manager leads periodic review, validation, and workflow testing of documented business continuity plans. Develops and implements organization-wide training and communications. Additionally, Business Continuity Manager supports internal audits and regulatory exams of compliance with required regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May require the Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or similar BCP certification. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Business Continuity Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Business Continuity Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Position Summary:
    • The Business Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing financial operations and business activities for Lutheran Family Services. The primary responsibility is to ensure the integrity of financial statements for various entities, including the Foundation, Dana Campus, and Healthy Housing Omaha. This role involves collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including accounting teams, program staff, and senior leadership, to support organizational goals.
    Job Duties:
    • Manage the preparation of financial statements for separate entities.
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and grant contracts.
    • Collaborate with the accounting and program staff to facilitate accurate reporting.
    • Assist program staff in budgeting and expense responsibilities.
    • Oversee the entry of accounts receivable transactions and payments into the accounting system.
    • Work with accounting personnel to address billing and collection discrepancies.
    • Enter general ledger journal entries.
    • Prepare payroll for staff directly associated with the assigned entities.
    • Monitor and implement established accounting policies and procedures.
    • Bridge communication gaps between departments, fostering a cohesive and collaborative work environment.
    • Collaborate with key finance staff (Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Controller) to ensure shared understanding and alignment.
    • Complete monthly account reconciliations, including but not limited to bank recons, general account recons, and accounts receivable to billings.
    • Collaborate on funder and financial audit activities.
    • Undertake additional duties and projects as assigned.
    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Word, Excel, and HR/payroll systems.

    • Regular and predictable attendance, and promptness for work.

    Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience required.
    • At least five years of progressive accounting experience.
    • Experience with non-profit accounting preferred.
    • Experience with State and Federal contract/grant finance and compliance preferred.
    • Demonstrated expertise in general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable areas of Accounting and Finance.
    • Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and ability to drive for organization business.
    Physical Requirements:
    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Remote work environment with periodic required in-office work.
    • Company-issued laptop.
    • Must be available during core work hours as directed by leadership and attend all necessary meetings as needed.
