Business Continuity Manager leads the implementation and supports the development of a comprehensive business continuity strategy and programs, plans, and toolsets that support response, develop resiliency, and enable recovery from events that disrupt business operations. Establishes a framework and methodology to manage all business continuity life cycle activities, including risk assessment, business impact analysis, strategy development, implementation, testing and review, plan maintenance and updates. Being a Business Continuity Manager leads periodic review, validation, and workflow testing of documented business continuity plans. Develops and implements organization-wide training and communications. Additionally, Business Continuity Manager supports internal audits and regulatory exams of compliance with required regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May require the Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or similar BCP certification. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Business Continuity Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Business Continuity Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Title:       Business Manager

    Reports to:    CEO

     

     

    Primary Role and Purpose:

    The Assistant Business Manager will report to the Business Manager and give support and assistance in non-academic matters to ensure the efficient day-to-day management of the Finance, HR, Purchasing, Administration and Facility functions. Team work and initiative will be vital, as will the ability to quickly grasp the complexities of school life and the needs of individuals and groups within this setting. The ability to communicate well at all levels will be essential, as will the ability to quickly gain an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of others. The post holder will work closely with the Business Manager and will also need to establish and maintain the trust and support of all school staff.  


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

     

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Support Purchasing, Food Services, Transportation, Accounting and/or Financial service operations of the district as requested. This includes but is not limited to, A/R, A/P, Payroll, Purchasing, and Asset Management.
    2. Assist with supervision of the financial affairs of the schools including independent special projects as assigned.
    3. Oversee selected administrative tasks of business operations areas.
    4. Assist the School Business Manager in the preparation of the budget and administration of the budget control process.
    5. Research questions relating to the business and financial affairs of the district.
    6. Maintain positive, cooperative, and mutually supportive relationships with the administration, instructional staff, students, parents,
    7. Protect confidentiality of records and information gained as part of exercising professional duties and use discretion in sharing such information within legal confines.

    Note: These duties are neither exclusive nor exhaustive and the post holder may be required to undertake other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Executive Director or Business Manager.

    Minimum Qualifications:

     

     

    1. Positive attitude and a desire to work with and for elementary and high school students.
    2. Hold a minimum of an Associate’s degree in accounting or business from an accredited college or university.
    3. Preferably have a minimum of three years of experience in a non-profit accounting setting.
    4. QuickBooks and Microsoft Office experience a required.
    5. Demonstrate excellent leadership and organizational skills and the ability to motivate people.
    6. Demonstrate excellent initiative, personal integrity and business ethics.
    7. Ability to work independently as well as be a self-starter.
    8. Hold a valid driver’s license with no serious violations.
    9. Exhibit positive interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
    10. Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and concisely in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary.
    11. Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative. Demonstrate the ability to use electronic equipment for work processing, data management, information retrieval, visual presentations, and telecommunications.
    12. Provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status by completing Federal Form I-9 in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.
    13. Provide evidence that a criminal record history check has been conducted and clearance has been given by the ROE.
    14. Meet such alternates to the above qualifications as the Executive Director may deem appropriate, acceptable and legal.
