- Business Analyst – Data Categorization in Albany, NY Item 1105 Summary: The Business Analyst will work within the Division of Data Services & Analytics (DDSA) Data Categorization team to gather and document project requirements for the data categorization practice. The ideal candidate will utilize their experience and skill set to research, document, and provide insight into the classification and categorization of data in the NYS Department of Health’s Medicaid program. Comprehensive on-the-job training and peer/supervisory support will be provided. The candidate should be able to take on new tasks and subject areas, willing to work in a team environment, and able to adjust to multiple priorities successfully. Basic Qualifications: 2 years of experience managing/administering/reporting data Desired Characteristics: Bachelor's degree Strong ability to research and document standards and methodology from various existing sources. Interpret existing standards, guidelines, and methodologies to produce summary documentation. Translate technical specifications and communicate in a clear manner to broad audience. Work independently and collaboratively in a team environment to move data categorization projects forward. Experience creating document/report templates and documentation. Experience coordinating meetings and producing meeting minutes preferred. Exceptional verbal, written, and time-management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Excel, Word. Experience with SharePoint, Teams, PowerPoint, and Visio preferred.
