Marketing & Business Development Representative
Purpose:
Performs administrative duties for the Marketing Department. Assists in the design, creation and implementation of marketing materials and activities for the Credit Union and assist in all areas of the marketing function. Develops new business for the Credit Union and identifies opportunities for brand awareness throughout communities.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists with the development of marketing and advertising campaigns and creation of multimedia packages-letters, brochures, videos, direct mail, online social media and point-of-purchase displays. Forwards to the Chief Marketing Officer for review and approval.
- Assists in the development, content and flow of outbound communications, including website, newsletter, print advertising, signage, sales materials, statement inserts and direct mail.
- Assists in the development and coordination of all monthly/seasonal promotional campaigns with respect to scheduling, communication to staff, development, production and distribution.
- Communicates regularly with the Chief Marketing Officer to receive assignments and to keep him/her informed of the status of all projects in process.
- Assists with the administration of the FLFCU's website.
- Develops prospect list of new members and businesses in the credit union’s field of membership and assists with the establishment of programs and marketing opportunities which focus on acquiring new members, loans, and increasing Credit Union (eligibility) awareness. Contacts and visits prospects to present information on available products, services and educational opportunities. Maintains accurate detailed records for all business development and assists with reporting to assess performance levels and identify areas for improvement.
- Maintains knowledge of all Credit Union services, products, terms, etc. Also reviews all current member literature for accuracy and content.
- Assists in marketing events and special projects that may include the Annual Meeting, membership drives, employee celebrations, member appreciation events, anniversaries, community events, sponsorship events, etc. Events often occur during night and weekend hours and may be on or off Credit Union property.
- Promotes professionalism and represents the Credit Union at various community and/or business meetings to develop new prospects and promote the credit union.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inventories all supplies, forms, and marketing materials to insure an adequate supply at all locations. Keeps the Marketing stock room and Credit Union apparel organized in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Types and emails correspondence for marketing department as needed.
- Cross-trains in other departments to learn basic functions and operations of each.
- Receives and responds appropriately to marketing solicitations, sometimes acting as go-between for Chief Marketing Officer.
- Maintains the “repo list” by uploading the information to the Credit Union’s website and the marketing screen.
- Maintains a neat and efficient filing system for the marketing department. Also maintains Credit Union archives of photos, statement inserts and graphics, advertisements, newsletters etc. Obtains marketing samples, product and service information, from other financial institutions.
- Must comply with the Federal Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money-Laundering and Customer Identification Policy (BSA).
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Marketing Officer.
Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Training:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field. Lesser education may be considered with previous Marketing or Business Development experience.
- On an annual basis, completes all mandatory Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, and Red Flag Identity Theft training.
Prior Experience:
- 1-3 years marketing preferred.
- 1-3 years graphics experience.
- 1-3 years business development preferred.
- Prior experience within the financial industry is helpful.

Other Special Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated advanced abilities with all computer software programs, including MS Office Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and other graphic design software.
- Strong technical ability and knowledge of web page design (html) and delivery.
- Excellent communicator, both verbal and written, and the ability to explain complex information or details.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities, organize and meet deadlines within a fast paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Must be a team player for the Credit Union, serve as a role model for others and have the ability to get along with staff and members.
- Is able to handle different situations with versatility.
- Must be creative, friendly, cheerful and motivated.

- Maintains an open and honest display of character.
- A valid driver’s license is required
Physical Demands:
- The position frequently involves bending, stooping, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing and/or pulling. May also require heavy lifting at times (20 lbs. or more).
Working Conditions:
- Moderate adverse working conditions. Some fluctuations in temperature experienced in an office setting.
- May be required to work outdoors for extended periods of time at Credit Union events.
- May need to work beyond normal working hours, either before or after hours, pending events and organizational needs.
