Business Development Director directs the execution of the business development vision, strategy, plans, and processes to drive sales, increase revenue, expand markets, and accomplish financial objectives. Identifies and evaluates new markets, partners, channels, and customers. Being a Business Development Director develops and uses contacts and relationships within the industry, business environment, and customer base to understand and respond to competition, pricing, and product demand changes. Oversees the development of proposals and contracts for new business opportunities and manages negotiations. Additionally, Business Development Director collaborates with marketing, sales, product development, and other stakeholders to support business development plans. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Business Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Business Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Do you work for a stadium or arena? Sportsdigita is looking for an experienced Director of Business Development to represent and grow DIGIDECK, Sportsdigita’s cloud-based presentation platform, while engaging prospective clients to establish new accounts and sales activity. The Director of Business Development is to expand business growth primarily within the sports industry, with a huge emphasis on stadiums and arenas.  

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Understand DIGIDECK’s offerings while positioning it properly amongst targeted prospects and inbound leads.
    • Drive leads by utilizing pipeline generation techniques such as social selling and sales campaign creation.
    • Work with the Leadership Team to develop strategic sales plans in order to achieve aggressive revenue goals.
    • Follow a developed sales process and methodology while utilizing internal tools to increase efficiency.
    • Produces and maintains accurate sales activity & sales revenue forecasting reports on a regular basis. 
    • Capture, maintain, and forecast accurate and relevant prospect information using Salesforce.
    • Build rapport with prospects and move the sales process forward through discovery meetings, demos, email, events, campaigns and LinkedIn content.
    • Manage the entire sales process all the way from finding prospects to closing the deal. 
    • Leverage relationships and support renewals and expansions of existing Sportsdigita customers.

     

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Proven sports sponsorship and/or ticket sales working for stadiums and/or arenas (8 years)
    • Experience in the 3rd party (tech) selling directly to the stadiums and/or arenas space
    • Possesses an extensive network of personal and professional contacts who are or have held leadership positions in the sports & entertainment industry; especially in stadiums and/or arena space
    • Proven successful virtual selling skills with dynamic presentation abilities.
    • Demonstrated & documented history of exceeding revenue targets.
    • Experience working with a robust sales tech stack (i.e. DIGIDECK, High Velocity Sales, Zoom, Salesforce.com and LinkedIn Navigator, etc) a plus.
    • Experience successfully managing the full sales cycle. 
    • Self-starter with strong creative, problem solving and organizational selling skills.
