Business Development Director directs the execution of the business development vision, strategy, plans, and processes to drive sales, increase revenue, expand markets, and accomplish financial objectives. Identifies and evaluates new markets, partners, channels, and customers. Being a Business Development Director develops and uses contacts and relationships within the industry, business environment, and customer base to understand and respond to competition, pricing, and product demand changes. Oversees the development of proposals and contracts for new business opportunities and manages negotiations. Additionally, Business Development Director collaborates with marketing, sales, product development, and other stakeholders to support business development plans. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Business Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Business Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Summary: 
     
    The Director of Business Development is a highly collaborative leader responsible for initiating and closing sales and growth opportunities, which significantly accelerate NFS’s expansion and profitability to assist in fulfilling the company’s vision to transform the healthcare experience.  This position achieves these goals by developing and implementing the company’s business development strategy and tactics.   

    Responsibilities:

    • Create and maintain business development activities and help establish strong relationships with new and existing referral sources and outreach 
    • Conduct market analysis, develop sales strategies, goals, and plans 
    • Continually evaluate the effectiveness of the business development plan 
    • Develop appropriate analysis and reporting mechanisms including MIS system 
    • Conduct market analysis, develop sales strategies, goals, and plans 
    • Work with the intake department and able to accurately represent the agency to referral sources 
    • Maintain business development referral admission records and statistics 
    • Create executive level presentations and present presentations to key stakeholders 
    • Travel to new areas to hire, identify offices, meet with stakeholders, etc., to establish new, or support existing operations 
    • Ensures that the responsibilities of all direct subordinates are defined and carried out 
    • Ensures that all organizational activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations 
    • Ensures that all program activities operate consistently and ethically within the mission and values of the agency

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in human services, communications, business, or related field required: Master’s degree preferred 
    • Three years of experience in a health care business development management position required 
    • Experience developing managed care agreements 
    • Experience planning, implementing, and evaluating programmatic growth 
    • Strong research, project, and operations background 
    • Excels at defining and executing on overall program concept 
    • Leadership abilities and relationship building skills 
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills; can communicate seamlessly
