    PURPOSE:

    As a Business Development Manager (BDM), you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities that meet and exceed annual sales targets as set forth by the Seaside Casual COO. You will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth and expanding the company's market presence. The BDM will manage a team of Regional Sales Reps, to ensure a successful strategy deployment.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Hunter mentality – Sales, results-driven with a high sense of urgency and initiative-taking.
    • Execute, cultivate, and steer the direction of the company’s sales vision and brand strategy.
    • Perform comprehensive market research to identify potential opportunities, clients, and competitive landscapes.
    • Formulate innovative strategies for market penetration, product positioning, and business expansion.
    • Negotiate contracts, agreements, and partnerships with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial terms.
    • Lead sales efforts, including prospecting, pitching, and closing deals with new clients.
    • Monitor sales performance, analyze results, and make data-driven adjustments to optimize outcomes.
    • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including marketing, product development, and operations, to align business development initiatives with overall company goals.
    • Provide input on product development and market positioning based on client feedback and market insights.
    • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to promote brand awareness and establish the company as a leader in the market.
    • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, providing insights into business development activities, performance metrics, and future opportunities.

    OTHER JOB DUTIES:

    • Maintain Industry awareness and expertise related to current needs and future trends.
    • Provide ideas, innovation, and suggestions for continuous improvement and maximizing sales opportunities.

    LEADERSHIP:

    • Plan, delegate, and control work assignments.
    • Review salaries/wages of others and recommend changes as appropriate.
    • Recommend new hires, promotions, transfers, demotions, disciplinary action, and terminations of employment.
    • Conduct performance reviews.
    • Establish a departmental budget and have sole accountability for the results as measured against the budget.
    • Have managerial-level responsibilities for a clearly identifiable program/department.

    COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:

    • Working knowledge of traditional, digital, and online business development.
    • Excellent communication skills (written/verbal/interpersonal) and ability to build relationships internally.
    • Knowledge of social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) and their respective analytics tools.
    • Excellent problem-solving with the ability to identify root causes and implement solutions.
    • Creates and motivates a team philosophy.
    • Strategic decision-making and problem-solving.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships.
    • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and lead generation activities.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • The BDM will spend most of their time visiting customers and prospects in the field, with moderate time in the office to collaborate with the team.
    • Travel requirements, both regionally and nationally.
    • Industry events represent travel 2-4 times a year.
    • Standard office setting. Stands, sits, and walks.
    • This may involve driving or flying to different locations, as well as walking or standing for extended periods during events.
    • Must be able to up to 20 lbs.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, or related field.
    • Experience developing and executing sales strategies.
    • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel) and CRM software.
    • eCommerce business development experience preferred.
    • Retail and/or commercial selling experience in the outdoor living space, a plus!
