Business Development Supervisor identifies, evaluates, and pursues business opportunities with partners or potential customers. Coordinates and negotiates with other departments to implement marketing initiatives. Being a Business Development Supervisor is responsible for maintaining close relationship with existing clients. Acquires new customers, retains and expands existing customer relationships. Additionally, Business Development Supervisor develops sales of products and services by investigating and resolving customer problems, recommends modifications to the product/service line, and coordinates sales negotiations with appropriate personnel. Responsible for meeting sales volume and revenue goals and standards for activity, such as number of sales calls. Requires a bachelor's degree in business, finance or marketing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Business Development Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Business Development Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Pay Rate: CDA- $1785.18/Bi-Weekly

    BA/AA- $1879.27/Bi-Weekly

    IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Education Manager

    GENERAL SUMMARY:

    This position is responsible for the general and day-to-day operations of a Head Start/Early Head Start center or cluster of outlying centers, covering multiple classrooms, assuring regulatory and legal compliance with federal, state and local regulations, communicating with parents and the community and supervision and monitoring of all staff working at the assigned center(s). The position may be reassigned to various centers as deemed necessary for program operations.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILTIES:

    Program Administration and Coordination

    • Develops and monitors center and staff schedules.
    • Arranges and schedules substitutes for the center classrooms.
    • Arranges for family, staff workdays for center improvements, fairs, events, etc.
    • Assists in establishing and fostering a team approach and coordination of services and the sharing of resources among centers within the overall program.
    • Responsible for monthly safety checks, fire drills and safety meetings as well as updating of the Safety Log.
    • Investigates any child or staff incidents, assuring all forms are complete and notifying the appropriate authorities and/or supervisor.
    • Attends IFSP/IEP meetings as needed or requested.
    • Takes the lead and arranges and attends Family Nights, Parent Committee meetings and works with staff and parents to plan and carry them out.
    • Receives and responds to verbal and written complaints about the program/center while managing the Parent/Community Complaint procedure at the center level.
    • Implements and supports “best practices” in early education programming in conjunction with the early childhood staff when applicable.
    • Plans for and equips indoor and outdoor areas to meet children’s developmental and safety needs in accordance with budget.
    • Develops and facilitates a positive community presence in the community, focusing on networking opportunities, enhancement of volunteer participation and educational awareness efforts in regard to program needs.
    • Responsible for monitoring and compliance with applicable local, state and federal rules, regulations and standards as well as with any state and federal contracts, health, safety and childcare licensing regulations and renewal.
    • Responsible for assuring compliance with quality assurance and program evaluation requirements.
    • Meets with parents and community members as appropriate.
    • Regular and predictable attendance is a requirement of the job.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    Minimum requirement is current CDA credential with at least two years of experience working with young children and families. Associate’s degree or higher in early childhood education, child development or other related education or human service degree with experience working with young children preferred. One-year supervisory experience preferred. Some experience in financial management and budgeting preferred. Previous Head Start/Early Head Start experience preferred. Ability to meet the state requirement(s) for “site director” required.

    Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish or English and other languages present in the local area). Within 90 days of employment, must obtain and continually maintain basic first aid and pediatric CPR certification (or sooner if required by local/state regulations). Acceptable tuberculosis screening results, a clear criminal records check (including child abuse registry check if required by state regulations) and an initial health exam are required post job offer and prior to employment. To drive agency vehicles (if applicable), must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable by the CDI Head Start insurance carrier and have a Motor Vehicle Record acceptable to CDI Head Start. Current and former Head Start/Early Head Start parents will receive preference for employment vacancies for which they are qualified.
