The Position
The Business Intelligence Analyst I, reporting to the Manager, Data and Analytics, is responsible for supporting the growth and maturity of Barrett’s data and analytics capabilities. Key areas of focus will include development of reporting, creating and maintenance of reporting documentation (business and technical), and governance of analytics platforms (Tableau, Snowflake, Crystal)
The compensation range for this position is $55K-$70K, depending on experience.
This shift works 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday.
Your Day-to-Day
- Create and maintain clear, concise, and accurate reporting and data source documentation for both business and technical users.
- Debug, support, and test new and existing reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
- Assist in performance and governance monitoring for reporting environments.
- Tableau administration such as managing user permissions, monitoring usage, managing workbooks, projects, data sources, and data connections.
- Design and create new reporting utilizing tools such as Tableau, Crystal, and Excel.
- Lead requirements gathering with business users to fully understand their reporting needs and how proposed solutions will solve business problems and aid in decision making.
- Write SQL statements to retrieve data for analysis and the creation of certified data sources for other analysts.
- Collaborate with internal end-users to resolve technical problems and address business reporting issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned
What You'll Bring To The Table
- Bachelor’s degree related to information systems, analytics, business administration, computer science, statistics, or similar field. May consider 8 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
- New grad to 3 years’ related work experience
- Experience with visualization/reporting tools (Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI) preferred
- Experience with SSIS/ETL tools and programming languages such as Phyton or R preferred.
- Proficient with all Microsoft applications, especially Excel
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance assigned projects, daily tasks, and ad-hoc analytics requests.
- Applies a constructive, positive attitude.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Must demonstrate high level of interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work well under pressure and problem solve across a variety of business processes.
- Able to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines. Strong emphasis on organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently.
