Job Title: Business Intelligence Product Manager
Job Duties: Designs, develops, and manages activities from product definition and planning to production and release (7%). Delivers value to internal and external users through software development and custom reporting (6%). Product owner, responsible for gathering business requirements, managing user expectations, and providing vision to development team to produce effective product features (7%). Focuses the development team to ensure execution of development plans and delivery of new features (5%). Involved in all aspects of development from requirement gathering to story development to delivery management to performance troubleshooting (4.5%). Manage and lead daily scrum process with cross-functional remote development team (5%). Plan, prioritize and manage delivery of backlogs ensuring that team has an adequate number of prepared tasks to work on every Sprint (4%). Ensures quality level of delivery by actively participating in release process (3.5%). Reports on progress to stakeholders and IT management (4%). Coordinates releases with development team and relevant stakeholders (4%). Communicates changes to users and educate training team and helpdesk (3%). Breaks feature requirements down into user-centric work items (5%). Reviews process and work items with development team (4%). Maintains product roadmap (5.5%). Manages ongoing priority and backlog in a quickly evolving environment (6%). Performs and coordinates manual and automated Quality Assurance (QA) (4%). Oversees product health (4.5%). Serves as an escalation point for issues and concerns about the product (4.5%). Facilitates regular communication with internal departments to understand user needs in order to extract potential improvements (5.5%). Serves as liaison between the business and development team for business reporting (5.5%). Conducts resource management with development contract provider (2.5%).
Requires: Master’s degree or its equivalent in Engineering Management, Computer Science or a closely related field plus three (3) years of experience as a Business Analyst, Quality Assurance Analyst or closely related role. Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Engineering Management, Computer Science or a closely related field plus five (5) years of progressive, post-Bachelor’s experience as a Business Analyst, Quality Assurance Analyst or closely related role. Must possess Certified Scrum Product Owner certification.
Experience to include: Three (3) years of experience as a software product owner;
Additional Skills to include: Experience leading cross functional teams with Scrum methodology; Experience with Databases, SQL and Business Intelligence tools such as Looker and Tableau; Product lifecycle management; Experience with IT operations and processes; Experience with Project Management, Budgeting and financial analysis; Experience with project planning and management tools (Lucidchart, Smartsheets, Pivotal Tracker, and MS office tools such as Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Graphs), PowerPoint and SharePoint,); Experience with complex business processes and gathering feature requirements from users of many different backgrounds.
Job Location: San Diego, CA. Remote work possible but must be onsite at least once a month, depending on business need. Salary Range: $129,230.00 to $145,200.00.
