Business Development Associate – Pipeline Market

T. Baker Smith is pursuing an enthusiastic and motivated Business Development Associate to join our l team in the Texas market. The right person will actively identify and bring in new clients collaboratively with the team to further strengthen the pipeline sector for TBS.
Your Opportunity:
- Collaboration with the Market Sector Leaders in the development of the “Target Client List” within the pipeline market.
- Develop and execute plans to bring expanded services to existing clients.
- Business development efforts to bring the target clients to the firm.
- Bring in new clients and new business to the firm that align with the “Target Client List.”
- Collaborate with the Client Champions in the development and implementation of the Client Development.
- Meet agreed-upon goals related to the number of new clients and new business secured.
- Source new opportunities to advance the goals and bring them forward to Market Sector Leaders.
- Active engagement and teamwork with the members of the Business Development and Marketing Group.

Desired Qualifications Skills:
- College degree preferred, relevant college courses may also be considered, plus a minimum of 10 years related professional services business development and sales experience.
- Any equivalent combination of education and sales and business development experience.
- Completion of sales training courses a plus.
- Client-focused sales approach with a clear understanding of the role of a “trusted advisor.”
- Currently actively involved in industry-related organizations to maintain a professional network, staying abreast of trends in said field, and advancing technologies/innovations.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills. Communication style must be accurate, precise, confidant, persuasive, positive, and respectful.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is generally in both a typical office and outside environment and thus, exposed to the noise, dust, smells, and other environmental factors present in such an environment.
Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week. Nights away from home and weekend commitments to the firm, its associates and clients are required.
Travel
Extensive travel by vehicle, air, or other mode of transportation, in the United States and internationally will be required for this position. Nights away from home and weekend commitments to the firm, its associates, and clients are required. Monthly, or more as required, visits to each of the firm’s US based locations (where the respective discipline has a presence) and quarterly to international locations (where the respective discipline has a presence) are required.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to operate, handle, maneuver, and manipulate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; use manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard, calculator, and telephone; talk and hear; climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception; ability to adjust focus.
