Responsibilities
As the Business Office Manager you will make a significant impact by:
- Record cash receipts accurately in the appropriate accounts.
- Maintain essential billing and financial information for resident business files.
- Keep resident trust accounts balanced on a monthly basis.
- Coordinate month-end closing and report all necessary information to the Corporate Office.
- Perform and coordinate collection efforts with the nursing home Administrator.
- Maintain accurate records of payor sources and explain bills to residents as needed.
- Ensure accounts receivables are recorded accurately.
- Reconcile room and board to monthly census.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all information.
- Effectively communicate with residents, families, facility staff, and business office team members.
- Meet strict deadlines for billing and reporting.
Qualifications
- High school graduation or G.E.D.; two years of college level accounting courses are required or equivalent experience.
- One to two years’ experience in accounts receivable or bookkeeping is preferred in the long term care or healthcare industry.
- Experience managing bookkeeping staff members
- Knowledge of adding machines and computer software required.
- Good interpersonal skills needed to effectively work with residents, families and outside agencies.
