Business Process Optimization Director manages teams that study and develop optimization changes to an organization's business processes to improve operational efficiencies, quality, service, and profitability. Conducts research on best practices and industry trends for the business. Being a Business Process Optimization Director oversees the in-depth analysis of existing workflows. Utilizes flowcharts and process maps to define existing processes and identify areas needing improvement. Additionally, Business Process Optimization Director engages and organizes subject matter experts and cross-functional groups to collect inputs. Implements the tools required to collect and measure relevant data, identify key performance indicators (KPI), and produce a data-driven analysis of critical functions. Introduces new business processes to the organization and produces documentation, tools, and training to support adoption. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Business Process Optimization Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Business Process Optimization Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Key Qualifications
    • 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering
    • Excellent project management skills, demonstrated ability to effectively manage OEM factories
    • Demonstrated ability to work within a matrix organization
    • Experience in managing a product from early development builds through steady state production
    • Experience in developing factory infrastructure requirements, process flows, end-to-end factory layout, setting equipment requirements
    • Direct experience in developing processes, tools and equipment for final assembly
    • Experience in performing DFM/DFT, Tolerance Analysis, DOE, Statistical Analysis, Statistical Process Control
    • Functional understanding of surface mount technology and data center hardware is a plus
    • JMP, Minitab & Six Sigma experience is a plus
     
    Description of Responsibilities
    • Technical lead for manufacturing operations at multiple vendors and production sites
    • Driving contract manufacturer preparation for pre-production builds
    • Production process development, documentation, optimization and validation
    • Leads development of production equipment and fixturing in conjunction with CMs and equipment vendors
    • Leads DFM analysis and works in conjunction with HW engineering in optimizing the design
    • Manages development builds and production ramp
    • Works all phases of a product from concept to repeat manufacturing to end of life
    • Generates Product Quality Plan (PQP) across supply chain (component suppliers to FATP)
    • Manages quality across the supply chain and leads root cause analysis and corrective actions
    • Works with customer teams on tracking in-the-field failures/RMAs and drives corrective actions
    • Manages weekly tech ops and quality updates
     
    Requires travel to factories in Asia and North America (~25% of the time)
