DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
Staff Human Resources (SHR) is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the campus in the areas of Benefits, Business Administration, Compensation/Classification, Employee & Labor Relations, HR Business Systems, Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition and Payroll. Staff Human Resources is dedicated to building a strong and healthy university by propelling the university mission, engaging and developing people, empowering our campus partners, building trust and teamwork and providing excellent Human Resource services. This position is located in Scotts Valley, CA and is eligible to work remotely.
JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Staff HR Business Manager, the successful candidate will identify, analyze, develop and/or refine SHR internal processes and create new technological solutions to assist SHR and campus clients. In addition to directly reporting to the Staff HR Business Manager, the role will also work closely with the HR Business Information Systems (HRBIS) Team and the SHR Web/Digital Communications Specialist.

Salary Information: Salary Range: $82,300 - $85,000/annually. Salary commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.

JOB DUTIES
70% - Process Review and System Design/Implementation/Updating
Applies technical expertise and business analysis concepts to identify, evaluate and define complex systems scope and objectives with an understanding of applicable human resource business practices, processes, systems and industry standards to meet end-user needs.
Gathers, analyzes, prepares and summarizes business needs and requirements for reviewing and revising existing system and process logic issues as necessary.
Executes the unit integration and acceptance testing and coordination among SHR units.
Conducts post-implementation analysis to determine the need for further enhancements, finer distinctions and / or additional process / policy components.
Collaborates with SHR team members and campus clients on the creation of specifications for process-improvement solutions.
20% - Training
- Provides documentation, support and training on new and existing applications, such as: InfoView, advanced Excel techniques, ServiceNow, FileMaker Pro, etc
10% - Other Duties as Assigned
- Supports SHR Business Team with campus communications and web updates.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent experience and training in related area.
- Thorough knowledge of the business systems analysis function, as well as through knowledge of related areas, i.e. Information Technology, Human Resources.
- Strong skills and knowledge of methodologies associated with analysis of processes and problems, information flow and architecture.
- In-depth understanding and skill in process and systems requirement documentation standards
- Demonstrated effective verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
- Demonstrated effective written communication skills.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills.
- Strong skills in analyzing, researching and synthesizing large amounts of data and policies for preparing sound and relevant proposals / analyses.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.

- Will be required to work a hybrid work schedule, days of the week and number of days to be determined, and be able to fulfill requirements of the UCSC telecommuting agreement.
- Selected candidate will be required to complete training within established time frames as directed including UC compliance training.
