Security Analyst for a
remote position with a client located in Madison, WI.
As a Security Analyst, you will be responsible for securing hybrid infrastructures and enhancing security solutions to protect our organization's data and systems from cyber threats. Our contract would run on 6-month increments starting in April-May 2023 and there is no established end-date!

You are a self-starter; an innovator that can collaborate with a disciplined team to impact all aspects of security administration, security analysis, and threat hunting on the internal private network, cloud services, as well as the security of the external public network. We are getting to the point where we need additional resources to help with the workload due to the spinning up of the projects that were slated for this year (SD-WAN and Data Center Migration). Additionally, we need to be able to handle the day to day network security needs (ie firewall configuration changes and investigations) necessary to continue operating. Responsibilities
What You’ll Do:-
Be a leading contributor during all phases of data security development, including design, recommendation of new technologies, testing, integration, and deployment.

Facilitates the day-to-day operations of the in-place security solutions.

Enforce and maintain established policies, procedures, and standards across all managed systems.

Monitor and maintain effective anti-malware protection throughout the data network.

Research, recommend, and ensure the timely deployment of security related patches to network operating systems, applications and devices.

Maintain and support the Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) system.

Review vulnerability scans and ensure that identified vulnerabilities are remediated as required.

Review and maintain risk register to track all unmitigated IT vulnerabilities.

Maintain and support Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Firewalls, IPS, email encryption, email protection, patch management, SIEM, password management tools, DNS filtering, threat Intelligence, Netflow, multifactor authentication, Application Delivery Controllers (ADC).

Deploy, Maintain, and support VPN connections from telecommuters, ATMs, and 3rd party vendors.

Maintain an in depth and current technical knowledge of security industry trends, products and events.

Review logs and reports provided by all monitored IT assets and initiate investigations into anomalous events when identified and escalate response as needed.

Interact with technology staff and manager to define, design, evaluate, test and implement changes and enhancements to existing network technologies and network systems
Qualifications
What You’ll Need to Succeed:-
Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

4 years of progressive experience in a medium to large network environment.

Experience in and a solid understanding of how Security Information Management (SIM) works

Proven experience with analysis, design, scheduling, construction, and delivery of network-based solutions.

Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft SQL server, Microsoft Exchange server, Cisco network devices, Intrusion Detection Systems, Firewalls and Virus detection systems
These attributes and knowledge are preferred but not required:-
GSEC, CISSP, or GCIH certification

Directly related experience with data network security development in a commercial environment

Familiarity with financial operations and financial industry
