Business Systems Analysis Director jobs in Hawaii

Hawaii Business Magazine is looking for a new Creative Director, the head of a two-person creative team that conceives and builds our designs in print and digital media.

We value excellent and inventive layouts, photography, illustrations, typography, logos and other creations that attract readers’ attention and keep them engaged with our stories and ads. For their first-rate work, our designers have won dozens of national and statewide awards in recent years.

The successful applicant will join an innovative and collaborative team at Hawaii Business that has earned respect in the community for its coverage of important local issues like housing, small businesses, the environment, diversity, tourism and leadership.

In addition to being creative, the new Creative Director must be well-organized, solution-oriented, self-directed and able to manage their time and budget, finish tasks on schedule, supervise another designer and work with freelancers.

The best qualified candidates will be able to:

• Cultivate a productive, innovative, flexible work environment for the creative team
• Collaborate with the Publisher to establish the art and design budget including labor and freelance staff, and monitor and adjust art and design expenses as necessary to meet financial objectives
• Collaborate with the magazine’s leaders to establish production schedules and timelines, and manage work to ensure that deadlines are consistently met
• Ensure the brand consistently meets its objectives for visual and design quality that are appealing to its audience
• Work with the whole team to identify our brand identity or “visual voice.” Ensure all work is reflective of the brand, our approach and our philosophies
• Work collaboratively and collegially with the magazine’s other departments: Editorial, Sales, Events and Digital
• Manage multiple projects at once and meet staggered deadlines
• Other responsibilities as the market and business dictate

The annual salary range for this position is $50,000 to $65,000.

The Creative Director will report to Steve Petranik, Editor and Executive Publisher of Hawaii Business Magazine.
