Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Applications within the Information Technology Services department, the Business Systems Analyst supports and ensures the continuity of application systems and business processes throughout the university through planning, needs assessments, technical specifications, business process mapping, project coordination, documentation and training. The incumbent serves as a liaison among stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to business processes, information systems, and supporting policies.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in an IT-related field.
• Three (3) or more years of related experience in a business analyst or similar role, preferably in a higher education IT environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency with administration of a major ERP or SIS, preferably Ellucian Banner, including demonstrated configuration management experience.
• Advanced project management experience
• Application software development experience
• Software/System support experience, including change management and end-user support.
• Knowledge of database concepts and technologies as well as SQL

Knowledge & Abilities & Responsibilities:

• Knowledge of application systems development including full understanding of successive phases of problem analysis, system design and specification, suitability of data, programming, testing, training, and support.
• Ability to work effectively with stakeholders, gain their confidence, understand their technical and operational needs and translate them into viable solutions and implementation plans.
• Ability to research new or inactive ERP/SIS features and recommend required configuration, software, data, and process changes needed for implementation.
• Ability to develop training plans and documentation to facilitate seamless implementation of new software features and business processes. Ability to conduct live training sessions as needed.
• Ability to work effectively with end users to coordinate testing of vendor-supplied enhancements and patches.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office collaboration and productivity software.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills; customer focused, collaborative, ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
• Ability to work independently as well as provide leadership to a cross-functional project team.
• Good judgment and decision making ability, attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and manage intermediate to complex projects.

Preferred Skills:

• Reporting and/or Business Intelligence tools such as Argos / Power BI / Tableau
• Experience with Ellucian Banner SIS and DegreeWorks
• Experience with Slate CRM by Technolutions
• Experience with EAB Starfish student success platform
• Oracle Database and PL/SQL
