Job Description:
Collins Consulting is seeking to hire a Business Service Assoicate. This role assists in the preparation of payroll reconciliations and ensures that payroll is accurately updated. Be involved in daily tax, accounting and payroll services offered by Collins Consulting Service, as well as responsibilities during each tax season. Responsible for all client service aspects as they pertain to our clients and their account needs.
Preferred education and/or experience includes: High school diploma. Post secondary education preferred. Work experience in related area beneficial.

Experience and Skills:

Respond to all payroll-related inquiries in a timely manner.

Perform and process payroll calculations.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records, prepare payroll journal entries, and reconcile payroll general ledger accounts, including payroll accruals.

Maintain confidentiality of all payroll information and documents.

Process and submit payroll reports in a timely manner.

Maintain payroll records and file tax reports.

Resolve issues affecting payroll.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Coordinate, organize, process and oversee client daily account needs.

Other responsibilities, such as assisting the Seasonal Tax Associate during tax season with answering phones & meeting with clients that are dropping off and picking up tax returns, organizing client tax documents, and assisting with other administrative tasks as needed.

Operates in full compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as applicable regulations and laws, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering requirements. Responsible to report any procedure or process that doesn’t meet regulatory requirements including fraud, whether suspected or confirmed, to management.

Accurately and timely process all requests within the department.

Prepare year-end payroll documents.

Answer phones and schedule appointments.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees of company and the general public. Must possess good communication skills. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Ability to operate the following: telephone, personal computer, printer, copy machine, fax machine. Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software programs. Advanced PC knowledge beneficial.
