The Purchasing Technician will be responsible for assisting in purchase orders, receiving/tagging inventory, and processing returns of all departmental Information Technology (IT) products and services that are procured.
The position manages DOJ’s cellular products as well as providing a variety of administrative duties, and coordinate office functions for division staff.
The duties and responsibilities are varied, and independent thinking and decision-making, in coordination with the CIO, Section Supervisors, and technical staff.
- Procure goods and services using the small purchase process as defined in the Procurement Rules and Methods policy.
- Follow procurement laws, rules, policy, and processes.
- Receive quotes where practical and use the State’s Vendor List for small purchases when possible.
- Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best price among potential suppliers.
- Create purchase orders to ensure accuracy of specifications and delivery requirements.
- Resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other purchasing issues.
- Complete data entry into databases and systems, gather information, and prepare reports.
- Maintain records of purchases.
- Salary: $ 18.00 - 20.61 Hourly

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of purchasing or other applicable experience.
- Other combinations of education or experience may be substituted.
