Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Manager at our Riverside, California manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for overseeing, directing and managing the operation of the Maintenance department while ensuring compliance with efficiency, safety, and quality standards.
Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. As the Maintenance Manager, you will be expected to train and manage maintenance/electrical employees, oversee the daily workflow and assignments, coach and provide feedback on productivity, supervise the installation, repair and maintenance of production equipment, building and facilities.
Your additional responsibilities as Maintenance Manager will include:
• Ensure adherence to safety guidelines, employee handbook, company policies and procedures, and other standards.
• Maintain acceptable attendance.
• Maintain orderly and clean work area.
• Oversee maintenance operation, P.M. programs, safe use of equipment, and housekeeping within the department.
• Produce and analyze reports.
• Supervise equipment repair and plant safety systems to include fire systems, machine guarding and plant lighting.
• Determine repair parts required.
• Maintain knowledge of processes and equipment.
• Detect issues in efficiency and suggest improvements; encourage and support continuous improvements.
• Problem solve and troubleshoot as needed.
• Manage and monitor parts inventory, present and future work schedules, workflow and assignments.
• Review and approve employee time records on a daily and/or bi-weekly basis.
• Provide timely feedback, direction and development on employees.
• Ensure compliance with administrative procedures, including paperwork.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree plus three (3) years specialty or technical training or equivalent work experience in a plant maintenance lead position is required
• Four (4) to six (6) years of related experience
• Computer Skills: basic computer skills are required; must be familiar with Microsoft Office Software, Word and Excel; must have a good working knowledge of SAP.
• Other Skills: must possess a wide variety of electrical hand tools
Salary depends on experience and starts at $101,400/year. This is an Exempt position.
