CAD Drafter utilizes computer-aided design (CAD) software and other techniques, standards, and tools to prepare technical drawings. Prepares computer-aided design (CAD) drafts, drawings, and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches. Being a CAD Drafter maintains deadlines, goals, and production standards set by the department. Coordinates and consults with engineers or designers to complete projects. Additionally, CAD Drafter transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software. Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The CAD Drafter work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a CAD Drafter typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Job Overview:
We are seeking a beginner CAD Drafter to join our team. As a CAD Drafter, you will be responsible for creating electrical drawings and plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software. You will work closely with the overall design team to translate their designs into accurate and detailed drawings.Since we are not in need of a Full time CAD Drafter you will also be tasked with helping facilitate lighting and gear quotes, to include junior estimating skills that can be taught onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Create 2D drawings using CAD software. AutoCAD.
- Review and analyze technical drawings, blueprints, and sketches
- Make necessary adjustments to drawings based on feedback from owners/jurisdictional revisions.
- Ensure drawings are accurate, complete, and adhere to industry standards and regulations
- Maintain organized files and documentation for easy retrievalQualifications:
- Proven experience as a CAD Drafter or similar role
- Proficient in CAD software such as AutoCAD
- Understanding of drafting techniques and principles
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
