Location: Minneapolis, MN

Wage: $23 - $35 per hour

Hours: 8 am – 5 pm, Monday – Friday

Responsibilities of the CAD / CAM drafter:

• Collaborate with the owner to create detailed technical drawings and models for woodwork projects using CAD software.
• Develop CAM programs for CNC machines to facilitate precision cutting, carving, and milling of wood components.
• Translate conceptual sketches and design concepts into accurate and manufacturable CAD/CAM files.
• Ensure that designs meet aesthetic, functional, and structural requirements while adhering to project timelines and budgets.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical evaluations to assess the viability of design concepts and propose solutions to optimize production processes.
• Generate material lists, cutting schedules, and assembly instructions to support the manufacturing process.
• Collaborate closely with production teams to provide guidance and technical support during the fabrication and assembly of woodwork components.
• Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain organized files and documentation of CAD/CAM designs and revisions.

Requirements of the CAD / CAM drafter:

• Proven experience as a CAD/CAM Drafter in the woodworking industry.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and CAM software (e.g., AlphaCAM, VCarve Pro).
• In-depth knowledge of woodworking techniques, materials, and joinery methods.
• Familiarity with CNC machining processes and programming for woodwork applications.
