Arcosa Marine Products, Inc., is searching for a CAD Designer/Drafter that will be based in our Ashland City, TN plant.
Arcosa’s Inland Barge Group is comprised of Arcosa Marine Products, Inc., a leading manufacturer of barges used to transport cargo on U.S. inland waterways. Arcosa Marine Products manufactures dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and hopper barges, that are used to transport a variety of products including grain, coal, and aggregates. Arcosa Marine Products also manufactures tank barges that carry petroleum, fertilizer, ethanol, chemicals, and other liquid cargoes. It is the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers used primarily on grain barges. Additionally, Arcosa Marine Products provides a full line of deck hardware to the marine industry, including hatches, castings, and winches for towboats and dock facilities.
What You’ll Do
Primarily detail piping system designs for tank (liquid cargo) bargesSecondary hull / structural designs for tank (liquid cargo), hopper, deck, and dock bargesUtilize Ship constructor and AutoCAD in addition to Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word)Upgrade 2D drawings to 3D models per company standardsCreate 3D models (for piping, structural/hull) in a detail package using ShipConstructorCreating and updating Construction Drawings for release to productionCreating and updating Shop Drawings for release to productionCreating and updating shop bills for release to productionRevising linework, references, notes, and callouts based on redline markupsWork is office-based, using computer drafting technology and software, spreadsheet software, and electronic communication dailyCoordinate with and consult with peers to design, layout, or detail complex components and resolve design of other problemsGather information from contract specifications, earlier projects, and production capabilities to produce detailed designs and construction drawings and BOMsMay occasionally need to visit production areas to troubleshoot construction problems and offer solutionsAbility to travel, if needed. What You’ll Need
- 3 years’ experience with AutoCAD.
- Computer Aided Drafting on assigned projects utilizing AutoCAD 2023.
- 3 years’ experience with ShipConstructor. (Highly Preferred)
- 3 years’ experience with Ship Constructor’s Pipe Modeling and Pipe Catalog modules. (Highly Preferred)
- Computer Aided Drafting with 3D software on assigned projects utilizing ShipConstructor 2023 (Preferred)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and additional Microsoft products
- Ability to read & understand Marine Structural documentation (blueprints)
- Experience with ShipConstructor Hull Feature. (Preferred)
- Experience with ShipConstructor Part Creation. (Preferred)
- Experience creating ShipConstructor Reports. (Preferred)
- Experience with ShipConstructor Marine Drafting. (Preferred)
- Experience with large assemblies (5,000 parts). (Preferred)
- ShipConstructor Certifications. (Preferred)
- Complete high paced assignments through effective prioritization, scheduling, planning and execution of assigned work
