CAD Drafter utilizes computer-aided design (CAD) software and other techniques, standards, and tools to prepare technical drawings. Prepares computer-aided design (CAD) drafts, drawings, and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches. Being a CAD Drafter maintains deadlines, goals, and production standards set by the department. Coordinates and consults with engineers or designers to complete projects. Additionally, CAD Drafter transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software. Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The CAD Drafter work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a CAD Drafter typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.     Job Responsibilities:
    • Develop complete sets of asbuilt plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D including site geometry, utility, erosion and sediment control, grading/drainage plans, and details by client and industry design standards.
    • Analyze surveys, field notes, maps, aerial photographs, and other materials to identify potential project constraints and the best approach to developing and completing projects on time and budget.
    • Perform asbuilt calculations for slopes, sewer design, hydraulic systems, detention ponds, etc.
    • Able to produce asbuilt surveys, boundary surveys, minor subdivisions, etc.
    • Collaborate with project managers and design staff to provide status updates, discuss challenges, and address plan revisions.
    • Able to do construction stake-out calculations.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Here’s what we are looking for in a Survey CAD Drafter:
    • High proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and Civil 3D.
    • Proficiency in managing data storage.
    • Ability to work in-office, M-F 8 AM to 5 PM.
