Cafe Nouveau is a new modern American cafe located at the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains in Malone, NY. We will be a full service restaurant serving Coffee, drinks, breakfast, lunch and to-go. Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold beverages to our customers. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are passionate about coffee and enjoy providing excellent customer service.

Duties:

- Prepare and serve a wide range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks

- Take customer orders and provide recommendations based on their preferences

- Operate cash register and handle cash transactions accurately

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar area

- Ensure all equipment is properly cleaned and maintained

- Follow health and safety guidelines when handling food and beverages

- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries and concerns

- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in a retail or food service environment is preferred

- Strong math skills for retail calculations, including cash handling

- Familiarity with POS systems, such as Aloha POS, is a plus

- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

- Knowledge of basic math for measuring ingredients and calculating recipe proportions

- Strong communication skills to interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner

Note: All positions must be paid, including internship positions.

Cafe Nouveau has a strict NON SMOKING policy which applies to customers and staff. There will be no smoking permitted during your shift or on the premise. We ask that all staff arrive to work free of smoking odors.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
