Equipment Operator

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the requirements of their assigned equipment and machinery to maintain a safe and efficient operation
• Provide the details accurately and timely on all daily reports
• Delegate and coordinate the activities of general labor employee(s) to assure effective and efficient operation of their assigned equipment
• Report any-and-all safety, or operational non-conformance to the Foreman as they occur.
• Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met
• Provide general service to the equipment and tools as required for proper maintenance and care. Alert Foreman of any service outside the scope of their training or ability to perform
• Resolve and communicate to the Foreman any problems as they arise
• Submit daily reports as required to Foreman
• Train General Labor employees on the use and back-up of the equipment.

Requirements and skills

• Proven experience as Construction/Field
• In-depth knowledge of procedures, equipment and OSH guidelines
• Understanding of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems as they apply to the equipment
• Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
• Ability to obtain an employer paid CDL within 6 months of employment
• Good physical condition and stamina
• High school diploma or diploma in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter etc.)
• Ability to travel and be away from home for extended periods of time
• Effective Communication Skills
