Campus Police Officer conduct patrols on campus to ensure security of buildings, students and staff. Responds to requests for assistance and emergencies. Being a Campus Police Officer enforces vehicle and traffic regulations. Investigates crimes. Additionally, Campus Police Officer may conduct educational activities related to safety and crime prevention. Typically require associate degree in criminal justice. May require POST(Peace Office Standards and Training) certification. Typically reports to Police Supervisor. The Campus Police Officer occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Responsibilities:
- Enforce laws, ordinances and regulations to maintain public order and safety
- Patrol assigned areas to deter criminal activity and respond to calls for service
- Conduct investigations and gather evidence at crime scenes
- Arrest and detain individuals suspected of committing crimes
- Write detailed reports documenting incidents and actions taken
- Provide assistance and support to victims of crime or other emergencies
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations
- Attend training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills
Qualifications:
- Must possess a High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have successfully completed the PA Act 120 Certification
- Must possess a valid PA driver's license with a clean driving record
- Must be a citizen of the United States
- Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must possess the ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations
