JOB SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Supervisor at Varsity Campus is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the facility's maintenance and ensuring the efficient operation of the property infrastructure. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and effective communication with a diverse group of stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, and external contractors. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of general maintenance tasks, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to lead a team effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage and coordinate daily activities of the maintenance department, including assigning tasks, scheduling shifts, and setting performance expectations for maintenance staff.

• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and improvement of all buildings, facilities, and systems within the assigned property.

• Ensure a safe and well-maintained environment for residents, faculty, and staff by conducting regular inspections and implementing preventive maintenance programs.

• Identify areas requiring improvement and develop strategic plans to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.

• Manage and maintain records related to maintenance activities, including work orders, inventory, and maintenance logs.

• Administer the budget for maintenance operations, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and adherence to financial goals.

• Liaise with external contractors, vendors, and suppliers for the procurement of materials and services required for maintenance activities.

• Handle emergency situations promptly and effectively, ensuring the resolution and restoration of any issues that may impact the campus infrastructure or its occupants.

• Provide leadership, guidance, and training to maintenance team members, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, building codes, and other applicable laws.

• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices related to maintenance and facility management.

• Collaborate with campus stakeholders, including students, faculty, and staff, to understand their needs and address any maintenance-related concerns.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, facility management, or a related field. Relevant work experience may also be considered.

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Supervisor or similar role, preferably in an residential or campus environment.

• Strong technical knowledge of building systems, equipment, and maintenance practices.

• Excellent leadership and management abilities, with the capacity to motivate and mentor a diverse team.

• Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly and effectively address maintenance issues.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

• Proficient in using computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) and other relevant technology tools.

• Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and building codes.

• Ability to work flexible hours and to be available for emergencies as needed.
