Campus Security Director directs and implements security and safety policies and procedures on campus. Manages the work activities of campus police and patrol units. Being a Campus Security Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a senior institutional officer. The Campus Security Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Campus Security Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Wage: $17.00 hour

    Schedules available:

    • Four days, 10-hour shifts to include weekends.
    • Five days, 8-hour shifts to include weekends.

    Education and Experience Requirements:
    High School diploma or equivalent. Have the ability to occasionally lift and carry 50-70 pounds and frequently climb stairs for patrols, investigations, and emergencies. Valid driver’s license in the state of residence with acceptable driving record.

    Brief Description:

    • Ensure safety and security of staff, students, buildings, and property through patrols, inspections, and investigations.
    • Maintain logs; write incident reports and accident documentation.
    • Conduct searches when required; assure accountability of students; complete student and visitor check-in and check-out procedures.
    • Conduct telephone switchboard and radio dispatch duties at main gate.
    • Provide positive, quality customer service to students and staff.
    • Transport students in rural or urban environments as needed.
    • Assist with development of new safety policies and procedures.
    • Participate in student employability programs and activities.

    Benefits:
    This position is covered under the Service Contract Act (SCA). SCA employees are automatically enrolled in coverage utilizing the full Health & Welfare dollars. Health and Welfare dollars (also called fringe dollars) are contributed by MTC to help pay for your benefit coverage. Health and Welfare dollars are earned for every hour you are paid up to 40 hours per week. Premiums are covered through Health and Welfare dollars for medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, basic AD&D, short-term disability, and 401k retirement account. Optional coverage is offered for dependents or spouse at the employee’s expense.

    Newly hired SCA employees are eligible for up to one week of vacation at 180 days of employment and up to one additional week after one year of employment, and 56 hours of paid sick leave.

    Tongue Point Job Corps Center is operated by MTC for the U.S. Department of Labor. Located at the mouth of the Columbia River, the Center is one of the five largest employers in Clatsop County.
