Position Description
The Clinical Director designs and manages all clinical aspects of our treatment program, in accordance with state and Joint Commission standards. They will monitor these standards through:
·Weekly treatment team meetings
·Auditing all clinical chart documentation
·Providing weekly supervision sessions for all clinical staff and interns
·Coordinating with physicians in identifying treatment needs for all patients and approving all client treatment plans
·Working with families and other treatment facilities to provide appropriate continuity of care
Key Duties
The Clinical Director will:
·Demonstrate compliance with all appropriate professional standards, licensing, and certifications
·Ensure the Center's services are compliant with HIPPA, JCAHO, and the state
·Be responsible for recruiting, retaining, evaluating, training, and disciplining all clinical department staff
·Regularly evaluate the Center's programs
·Plan and implement new programs and clinical services with the senior management team
·Evaluate client data to coordinate treatment services
·Work with admissions team to ensure new admissions are suited for each Center
·Monitor client population and clinical assignments to make sure workloads are reasonable
·Ensures continuity of client care via knowledge of treatment modalities and the Southern California recovery community
·Be in communication with client families and provide family services as needed
·Communicate with referral sources when necessary
·Regularly ensure compliance with industry, local, and state agencies
·Review and revise the center policies and procedures as needed
·Uphold and enforce the center's standards, policies, procedures, client rights, and our professional code of ethics and conduct
·Oversee, manage, and audit documentation of therapists, clinical staff, and contracted facilitators
Core Competencies
·Manage clinical staff with respect to screening, assessment, individualized treatment planning, crisis intervention, group and individual counseling, case management, referral, discharge summaries, clinical documentation, and professional ethics
·Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with subordinate staff, supervisors, utilization reviews, managed health care clinicians, and medical and mental health professionals
·Positively interact and develop rapport with clients and their families
·Develop systems and methodologies for continuous improvement of group and individual treatment modalities
·Evaluate and review effectiveness of program, services, and group therapy designs
·Maintain culture of care that is conducive for maximum benefit of both clients and staff
Education, Experience, & Skills
·Education: Have a master’s degree with a valid California license as an: LMFT/LCSW, PsyD, Ph. D.
·Experience: At least two years’ experience in the addiction and mental health field or equivalent human services. Experience in dual diagnosis preferred
·Certificates & Licenses: Valid driver’s license; drug and alcohol counseling credential or internship preferred
·Skills: Computer literacy in Microsoft office; proficiency in KIPU Systems client management software
Other Requirements
·Negative TB test within past year
·Ability to pass pre-employment and/or random drug screenings
Hours
The position of Clinical Director is salaried. They will work a designated number of hours per week and follow policies about meals and breaks.
