Production Planner

Job Description:

The primary function of the Production Planner is to plan production schedules to meet customer promise dates, on time. This position is responsible for planning the purchasing of raw material to support manufacturing and plan production schedules to meet customer demands.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Sales, Production, and Purchasing to develop production schedules for manufacturing.
• Establish sequence and lead time of operations to meet shipping dates according to forecasted demand and existing customer commitments.
• Work with Customer Service to advise lead time and schedule changes.
• Manage component material purchase order and finished goods requirements to ensure on time deliveries while ensuring inventory turns.
• Expedite operations that delay or alter schedules.
• Ensure customer commitments are prioritized and communicated effectively to the Manufacturing Manager.
• Interfaces with manufacturing personnel, the purchasing department and supervisors on material status and production planning issues.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; will consider equivalent work experience.
• 1-2 years of experience in fast paced work environment.
• Electronics and Manufacturing industry experience (which is preferred but not required).
• The ability to be a self-starter, with integrity and confidence, and can strive to achieve challenging objectives with limited supervision.
• High level of initiative, organization, accuracy, and judgment.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to build professional relationships with a spectrum of team members.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) proficiency required.

Salary based on experience.
