Capacity Planner plans, measures, and monitors operating limits and capacities of an organization. Forecasts and plans capacity requirements to ensure alignment with department or unit and determine variance from production schedules, resource levels, and inventory demand. Being a Capacity Planner identifies and troubleshoots production issues or bottlenecks that impact plant capacity. Coordinates with internal stakeholders like engineering, sales, and marketing to understand and develop current and forecasted plans. Additionally, Capacity Planner utilizes manufacturing data and reports to drive key insights into efficiency, production rate, and other performance metrics. Produces reports that evaluate plant capacity and identify areas needing improvement. Recommends process and equipment improvements to optimize production capabilities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Capacity Planner occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Summary: Hiring a detail-oriented Production Planning Specialist to develop work packages, maintain production routings, and optimize project execution.
Job Requirements:
Generate work packages, material requisitions, and project component order releases using our advanced MRP System - Finesse.
Create insightful production reports such as shortage lists, order status reports, exception reports, labor reports, production routings, and parts lists.
Monitor and optimize yard capacities for enhanced operational efficiency.
Evaluate and incorporate engineering modifications into work packages while coordinating with schedulers.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure the availability of appropriate inventory and support project schedules.
Develop and monitor labor/material estimates and actual performance at the work order level.
Preferred Skills:
In-depth knowledge of production planning and inventory control principles within an MRP environment.
Proficiency in entering, maintaining, and generating accurate data and reports.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
Expertise in Build Strategies, Master Schedules Material Requirements Planning Work Order Creation Budgeting Detailed Scheduling or quick ability to acquire these skills.
Experience & Education:
College degree preferred; high school education or equivalent with additional coursework or technical training in production management acceptable.
7 years of hands-on experience
APICS certification is a plus
Experience with MRP software is required
Professional-level experience in scheduling production planning or a combination of experience and training that demonstrates the required knowledge skills abilities.
