Maintains the required FAA records and documentation for certifications, crews, flight times, aircraft, and activity. Being a Captain/Pilot in Command (Large Jet) keeps informed about current aviation developments and regulations that impact flight operations. Coordinates pilot training and development plans to ensure all are ready for flight duty. Additionally, Captain/Pilot in Command (Large Jet) uses the Safety Management System (SMS) to identify, mitigate, and manage risk in operations. May require a bachelor's degree. Requires Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate. Requires FAA Commercial Pilot's License. Typically reports to a director or head of a unit/department. The Captain/Pilot in Command (Large Jet) manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Captain/Pilot in Command (Large Jet) typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. This is a beach job on a resort island offering a service that everybody wants.
The job is from approximately late May to Labor Day with some exceptions being considered. Our customers rent kayaks, paddle boards, jet skis, small power boats and the largest ISUP on Lake Erie, ”The Mammoth!”
You will be fully trained on watercraft, clerical and 5-star customer service . Pay raises are merit based. Full time employees will stay on the island in beautiful housing for little cost.
It's fun and serious and will challenge you to learn and grow. The two most important things are 1) learning and then doing as you were trained and 2) having cheerful and friendly demeanor.
