We are looking for someone with extraordinary customer service and patient care skills. The primary function of the Nurse Navigator Director is to assist the surgical, medical oncology and radiation oncology teams that work with high-risk and cancer patients with a holistic approach, ensuring quality patient outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Help support teams during the new referral process by gathering records, verifying insurance, assessing patient needs and providing resources to ensure the individual needs are being met.
· Meet with patients and their loved ones to ensure proper educational materials and referrals for ancillary services (such as nurse navigation, financial counselors, support, wellness services, etc.) are done, meeting the individual’s needs.
· Support physicians with genomic and genetic testing needs.
· Triage in-coming phone calls to ensure prompt and effective service is received.
· Maintain referral pattern statistics and track patient outcomes receiving neo-adjuvant chemotherapy.
· Responsible for high-risk and cancer educational material in written and digital form.
· Work closely with the marketing team to provide promotional material and patient testimonials for social media and website.
· Oversee the daily operations, budget, and inventories of the Oncology Center.
· Lead and supervise the Program Assistant.
· Organize monthly Tumor Boards to include guest speakers, PowerPoint presentations, and cases.
· Attend multidisciplinary tumor boards.
· Attend community events to educate the community and support cancer survivors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· At least 5-7 years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting, with 3 or more years of experience in Oncology.
· Highly prefer nursing experience in Case Management of Nurse Navigator experience.
· Current licensure as a registered nurse (Required).
· Must possess and demonstrate excellent communication skills, requires resourcefulness, diplomacy, and reliability to manage all of the duties of this job.
· Must possess discretionary skills to deal with protected health information (PHI) and document in the EMR.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain rapport within and outside of the company.
