Vehicle Pick Up Location: 415 N. Zarfoss Dr, York PA
Pay: $21.50/hour
Requirements - Must Have (at time of application):
In order to apply for Express Driver position, one MUST already have....
-CDL Class A or B license, AND
-Passenger (P) endorsement, AND
-have Air Brake Restriction lifted (No L or Z Restrict), AND
-no N restriction (a passenger endorsement restriction), AND
-no K restriction (able to drive interstate)
-And be comfortable driving a large motor coach bus.

*Express portion of the job* - The Express Extra Board Driver serves as a fill in driver, driving the large, black motor coach bus transporting commuters north to Harrisburg and south to Northern Maryland on I-83. Runs involve AM* & PM* Split Shifts (fill in on Paratransit in mid-day gap)
*Paratransit portion of job* - Drives elderly/disabled mini bus to and from Dr appointments, errands, etc.
*The combination of the two EXPRESS Extra Board*
-Earns $21.50/hr when driving either Express or Paratransit
-Performs open Express work whenever available.
-Performs Paratransit work (at Express Wage) after all Express work has been exhausted or not available.
-Approx 35-40 hours per week based on available work. OT based on seniority.
-Offered open Express work first and open Paratransit work second.
-Must perform all work offered until have met 40 hour work week.
-Offered open work as a first choice ahead of any other operators that hold set bid hours.
-Must be available to cover open work in both pre-planned and day of notice needs
-Must be available Monday - Friday between the hours of 3:30 AM - 11 PM for Express and Paratransit work.
-May involve a Split shift (Work AM, off mid day, then Work PM) if no mid day Paratransit work.

Job Summary (Role in organization):
The position is critical in assisting rabbittransit in meeting our mission of mobility. The impact of public transportation runs much deeper than a trip from point A to point B. We are the means for which people have access to experiences that alter their lives in meaningful ways. Our culture of innovation and stewardship champions that mission. This position is responsible for operating a van/bus to transport passengers in a safe and courteous manner under specialized transportation services which provides peak-hour commuter express trips along an established route and according to a set schedule with a limited number of stops in inter-County service. The driver is responsible for driving defensively and reacting to emergency situations to ensure the safety of the passengers and the safety of the general public. Work includes completion of vehicle inspections, maintaining accurate records, assisting passengers as required including wheelchair securements, receiving and accounting for fares, radio communications, following emergency procedures, and other activities as assigned by the Operations Supervisor/Site Manager. The driver is responsible for meeting all attendance requirements according to bid (if applicable), CBA (if applicable), policy, and safety emergency response situations. CPTA is the County Emergency responder (if applicable to that division). Available for forms of other transportation systems as needed (if applicable to that division).
Key/Reporting Relationship
This position reports to the Operations Supervisor/Site Manager. This position receives training, general supervision and works according to standards.
