Cardiac Catheterization Technologist performs diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations and other related procedures. Inserts small catheters through a needle into the blood vessels and into the heart so that X-rays, angiograms and other recordings can be taken to determine the heart's structure and function. Being a Cardiac Catheterization Technologist assist physicians with patient monitoring during surgery or procedures. Documents evaluation results, progress reports, treatment plans and other data using appropriate formats and systems. Additionally, Cardiac Catheterization Technologist some positions may require additional certifications such as: Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES). Requires an associate degree. Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Requires Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS). Typically requires State License. Typically reports to a manager. We are searching for a Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist to perform diversified clinical patient care, technical and related duties within cardiac cath lab or structural heart as part of an interdisciplinary care team. Assume responsibility for each assigned patient, perform patient assessments, and correlate clinical findings with exam/procedure request. Assist interventional or invasive cardiologist in performing cardiac cath or structural heart procedures. Obtain pertinent hemodynamic and angiographic information from patients and document all data within the hemodynamic system and EPIC. Perform patient education related to the procedure. Select technical factors/ parameters/sequences to produce quality images. Apply the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others. Assist with ongoing quality assurance activities as assigned.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and COVID 19 and provide required vaccination documentation, unless approved for an exemption or deferral by Southcoast prior to starting employment.
