Job Goal: The career advisor will design a career development and exploration framework to implement in the District to help middle and high school students identify areas of career and occupational interests, ensure they have employability skills such as time management and oral communication, work with sending middle schools to implement the framework as an integral part of the 7th and 8th grade advisory classes and work with students to track their progress toward career development through high school. This position will also be responsible for coordinating and facilitating student participation in work-based learning experiences, CTE Certificate Academies and CTE online coursework.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. The employee will occasionally be required to stand, walk, bend and reach. The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 15 pounds. Manual dexterity is required to finger, handle or grasp objects. Must be able to hear, talk and see. Ability to drive is required due to occasional travel necessary within and outside of the District.
