    PAT Parent Educators, Fatherhood Coordinator, Belleville Data Entry, Ypsilanti Parenting Network Coordinator, student interns, work-study students, and volunteers

    FLSA STATUS:

    Exempt (Professional)

    POSITION PURPOSE:

    Coordinate, manage, develop, and evaluate all aspects of SOS programs and services for children and school age youth and their families. Facilitate children’s programs, including special events and seasonal programs. Provide intervention services including assessment, referral, and coordination of activities for families experiencing homelessness. Serve as Parents as Teachers Supervisor using the Parents as Teachers model for families with children age 0 to 5.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    I. Children Services Program Management Responsibilities:

    1. Coordinate, manage, develop, and evaluate all aspects of programs and services for children and school age youth and their families.

    2. Build collaborative relationships within the community related to children and youth programming to determine gaps in services and addressing those gaps.

    3. Actively build partnerships with other youth-serving organizations in order to avoid duplication of service and maximize resources for families.

    4. Provide regular supervision and evaluation of children’s program staff, interns, work study students, and volunteers.

    5. Assure that all children’s staff, student interns, and volunteers receive appropriate orientation and training specific to their program area.

    6. Assist in designing and implementing program outcomes evaluation.

    7. Assure that all record keeping and grant-related reporting is completed in a timely fashion.

    8. Serve as agency liaison to local schools, establishing ongoing relationships with teachers and other appropriate school personnel to coordinate services for school-aged youth in the program.

    9. Serve as agency liaison to Washtenaw Area Alliance for Children and Youth (WACY) and Great Start Collaborative (Success by Six); attend meetings.

    10. Assure that all children’s programs are age appropriate and culturally sensitive.

    11. Participate in appropriate inter-agency program planning for children’s services.

    12. Assist in advocating for homeless children with community systems impacting their lives

    13. Develop and maintain knowledge of community organizations, counseling agencies, programs and other community referral resources providing services for children and youth

    14. Ensure the timely and satisfactory completion and submission of outcomes reporting for all children’s funders and programs.

    15. Actively participate in statewide coordinating groups relevant to early childhood programming.

    16. Other duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer

    II. Parents As Teachers Program Responsibilities:

    17. Acquire/maintain training and certification in the Parents as Teachers model of home visiting

    18. Using the Parents as Teachers (PAT) model, conduct regular Reflective Supervision with all PAT certified staff

    19. Ensure that all PAT staff complete appropriate certification trainings and maintain ongoing certification

    20. Ensure that PAT staff are conducting quarterly Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) screenings on all eligible children in the household, make appropriate referrals as needed.

    21. Ensure that PAT staff are completing an annual PAT Health Record to monitor child’s overall physical health.

    22. Oversee data collection records in Visit Tracker in accordance with agency and funding source requirements.

    23. Oversee Group Connection parenting workshops as required by PAT curriculum.

    24. Oversee parenting groups and play groups for families of children age 0-5 as appropriate.

    AGENCY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Actively support the SOS commitment to diversity in all areas and responsibilities.

    2. Uphold and ensure appropriate enforcement of all agency policies and practices.

    3. Participate in community relations and outreach tasks as directed and required.

    4. Serve as a member of the Management Team, and attend Management Team Meetings.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology or another Human Services field Preferred; or Bachelor’s Degree plus 4 years post BA experience required. Knowledge and demonstrated skills in working with economically distressed populations as well as sensitivity to the special needs of minorities, women, and low-income populations.

    Knowledge and experience working in the areas of group counseling, parenting education and support, substance abuse, and direct service to children a must. Direct experience working with children and parents in a human services setting required. Successful supervisory experience required. Knowledge of area children’s services providers, school personnel and system of care agencies preferred.

    Good writing, verbal skills, and Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Google communication platforms required. Possession of Michigan Driver’s License in good standing that meets agency insurance standards and a willingness to obtain a Michigan Chauffeur’s License. Consistent access to reliable transportation. Maintain compliance with the Substance Free Work Place Act, the Privacy Act and Federal, State, and local laws regarding professional standards of conduct.

    Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
