    • Day shifts
    • Monday through Friday
    • Evenings/Weekends 

    Job Summary: The Career Coach works closely with program participants to provide comprehensive career development support. This role involves conducting assessments, assisting in goal setting, offering guidance on job search strategies, and facilitating professional growth. The  Career Coach must be familiar with the eligibility requirements, service delivery components and outcomes of multiple grants assigned and serve a caseload of participants across these grants.

    Job Hazards:

    • Possible emotional strain from working with individuals facing career transitions
    • May require occasional travel for workshops or meetings


    Responsibilities:

    Career Assessments & Skill Gap Identification

      • Conduct thorough assessments to identify individual strengths, skills, and career aspirations.
      • Identify skill gaps and recommend training or educational opportunities for professional development.


    Goal Setting & Career planning

    • Assist participants in defining and refining short- and long-term career goals.
        • Assist participants in understanding soft skills and how they are important to being successful in the workplace.
        • Helping participants develop personalized career plans.

    Resume & Job Search Support

        • Provide personalized guidance on crafting resumes, cover letters, and effective job search strategies.
        • Stay informed about industry trends and labor market dynamics to provide up-to-date career advice.

    Workshops & Training

        • Develop and deliver workshops on career development topics such as resume writing, interviewing skills, and career planning.

    Career Transitions & Negotiation Support

          • Guide employees through career transitions, including promotions, lateral moves, and changes in focus.
          • Offer support in negotiating job offers, promotions, and other career-related decisions.

      Interview Preparation

          • Facilitate mock interviews to improve confidence and performance.

      Documentation

        • Maintain accurate and complete records of participant interactions, events, and all other work assignments


      Qualifications:

      • Strong understanding of career development and counseling techniques.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
      • Ability to build rapport and trust with participants and employees at all levels.
      • Familiarity with a wide range of job markets and industries.
      • Proficiency with career assessment tools and resources.
      • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
      • Experience in facilitating workshops or training sessions.
      • Demonstrated knowledge of community resources and services available to participants
      • Experience, comfort, and desire to work with various vulnerable populations such as re-entry, homeless, veterans, disabled, low-income, etc. 
      • Bilingual in Spanish/English highly desirable


      Education and Experience:

      • Associate’s/College degree; BS/BA in business administration or relevant field is a plus. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
      • Experience as a career coach or similar position


      Physical Requirements:

      • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
      • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
