Carpenter jobs in Salem, OR
Carpenter constructs, maintains, and remodels buildings or related structures. Installs, fixes, or modifies all aspects of a building, including walls, ceilings, floors, and stairs, as well as related structures like railings, doors, windows, and air conditioning systems. Being a Carpenter follows blueprints and plans to ensure requirements and specifications are met. Observes all worksite safety procedures and guidelines. Additionally, Carpenter inspects buildings to determine repair that needs to be done. An apprenticeship and/or formal training may be required. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Carpenter works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Requirements
- Must be willing to work on-site at our Headquarters in Damascus, OR Monday-Friday.
- 2 years of experience in carpentry is preferred.
- Ability to perform rough and finished carpentry work on a variety of structures.
- Willingness to learn. Our projects are most likely a bit different than your typical framing projects so come ready to learn!
- Exposed post and beam experience is a plus, but basic framing knowledge is required.
- Attention to detail is a must! While we do have a fast-paced work environment, we do not sacrifice quality for speed and all of our crew members will be held accountable for the quality of their work.
- Strong work ethic and high character.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day
- Must work well with others and be self-motivated. Our crews spend a lot of time together on the road so good people skills are needed.
- Must have reliable transportation
We are also interested in acquiring crews of 2 to 6 workers for local as well as out-of-state work.
Compensation is competitive and dependent on experience, with healthcare, dental, and retirement benefits available after 30 days of employment.
