Case Manager - Alcohol or Drug coordinates the overall plan of care for patients with alcohol or drug problems from admission to discharge. Acts as a liaison between patient/family and service delivery personnel to ensure patients are effectively evaluated and treated. Being a Case Manager - Alcohol or Drug works with management to maintain and improve overall quality of services. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related field. Additionally, Case Manager - Alcohol or Drug requires a valid Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor(LCDC) license. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Case Manager - Alcohol or Drug occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. ABOUT THE PROGRAM: ADULT OUTPATIENT
The Adult Outpatient services provide psychiatric & substance abuse diagnostic evaluation and treatment. Services include assessment, consultation, individual, couples, group, family treatment and medication evaluation and monitoring
PROGRAM OUTLINE:
As a DARC intern in the Adult Outpatient Program students will learn the day-to-day management of Medication Assistance Treatment, Intensive Outpatient Program, and Recovery Supports for those affective by substance use. This internship is best suited for someone who is a self-starter interested in gaining hands on experience working with individuals affected by substance use. Tasks will include basic motivational interviewing, assisting with connections to natural community supports, co-facilitating intensive outpatient treatment and participation in multiple disciplinary team meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Must be enrolled in an associates degree program in mental health field.
Experience: Demonstrated experience in mental health treatment preferred but not required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Valid driver’s license
