Summary:

The Cash Applications Specialist is responsible for the timely and accurate posting of accounts receivable payments daily. They are additionally responsible for maintaining unapplied payment percentages within the company requirements. There are several credit functions that will be part of this position’s job duties as well.

Job Responsibilities:

• Review and post accurately each day all customer payments.
• Contact customers as required regarding questionable payments and resolve based on departmental procedures.
• Provide quality, professional customer service to all internal and external customers.
• Timely response to payment inquiries by internal and external customers.
• Research and apply unidentified checks, EFT’s, and wire transfers.
• Apply open credit memos as requested.
• Reconcile daily cash and credit card transactions.
• Daily physical checks deposit.
• Analyze credit data & financial statements to determine credit limits on new/existing customers.
• Maintenance of customer credit information in P21 including raising or lowering of credit limits when requested by Collection Analyst.
• Set up new accounts and help with transition of accounts to P21 from newly acquired companies.
• Fill out and return all credit reference inquiries for existing Valin customers.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Skills

• 3 years’ experience in Accounts Receivables/Cash Applications/Credit.
• Must have a good understanding of Excel and Word.
• Excellent data entry skills
• Strong attention to detail
• General accounting knowledge
• Strong math aptitude
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Good research and resolution skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Self-starter, able to work in fast paced environment.
• Excellent communication/customer service skills

Physical Capabilities and Requirements:

• Majority of day spend sitting at the desk.
