Job Summary:

The Cash Application Specialist is responsible for accurately and efficiently processing cash receipts, reconciling payments, and ensuring that customer accounts are up-to-date. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent math skills, and the ability to work with various entities' remittances and invoices. Familiarity with Oracle software and prior accounting experience will be beneficial in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cash Application: Accurately apply customer payments to their respective accounts in a timely manner.
2. Payment Reconciliation: Reconcile cash receipts with remittances, invoices, and purchase orders to identify discrepancies and resolve them promptly.
3. Data Entry: Enter payment information into the accounting system with a high degree of accuracy.
4. Customer Communication: Communicate with customers to clarify payment details, resolve payment issues, and provide payment confirmations.
5. Account Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies to maintain accurate customer account records.
6. Oracle Software: Utilize Oracle software for cash application and reporting (experience with Oracle is a plus).
7. Reporting: Generate and maintain reports related to cash application activities and account reconciliation.
8. Documentation: Maintain clear and organized records of all cash application activities.
9. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure smooth financial operations and support month-end and year-end closing processes.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred).
• Previous experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or a related role is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in data entry.
• Excellent math skills and the ability to perform basic accounting calculations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and experience with accounting software.
• Familiarity with Oracle software is a strong advantage.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with both internal teams and external customers.
