CAT Scan Technologist obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and answers patient questions. Produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of specific areas as required by the departmental procedures. Being a CAT Scan Technologist performs obstetric and gynecological scans, ultrasound techniques and examinations, abdominal scans, retroperitoneal scans, and radiation therapy localization. Requires a high school diploma. Additionally, CAT Scan Technologist requires completion of radiologic technology training and American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) registration. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. CAT Scan Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Job Description:
Perform Computed Tomography (CT) and CT guided interventional procedures under the direction of a qualified physician
Provide patient and family education
Operate equipment safely
Complete department documentation
Maintain all equipment to be clean and operational
Maintains adequate supply inventory for performing examinations
Job Requirements:
Education: Trade School Graduate - Radiologic Technology
License/Certifications: ARRT or CNMT required. Advanced CT registry in ARRT or CNMT to be obtained within two (2) years of hire (to include mergers and acquisitions).
