Machine Operator
This position has the potential to be on any of our shifts:
1st shift, Four 10 hour days, 1st shift starts between 5am and 7am.
Summary of Duties
A machine operator will ensure the efficient running of production by doing machine set ups, maintaining and operating various types of machinery. A machine operator will also perform regular quality checks to maintain product conformity. Will aid in the development of product and process flow. They will analyze and prove out changes to current and new processes.

Operate various types of machines: Blanchard, lap master, polisher, saws, CNC basic operation, hand lap, ultrasonic, bevel, belt sander and more as assigned
Suggest and actively participate in improvement projects
Assist in identifying problems and developing solutions for machine issues
Perform and record quality control measurements with various tools
5S and general organization of your area
Follow safety measures including handling chemicals safely and wearing PPE.
Multi-task between various parts of production
Be able to work independently and be self-motivated
Complete accurate computer transactions
Preventative/daily maintenance for machines in your area
Create, modify, and test process variations for new and existing products
Troubleshooting
Other duties as assigned
Work Environment
Standing for 8-12 hours a day
Regularly working around moving mechanical parts with proper guarding
Climate controlled building
Noise levels are moderate and below OSHA thresholds.
Various chemicals are used to complete the tasks at hand and proper PPE must be worn
Regular lifting up to 30 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
Sometimes lifting from floor to shelf or carrying short distances
Lifting from shoulder level to the floor
Regularly walking between stations to complete tasks
Occasionally going up and down a short ladder or step stool
Education, Experience or skills Required
HS Diploma or Equivalent
Basic math skills
Ability to work with small parts and tools

Experience, Skills and Abilities Preferred
Familiar with Metric and Standard Measurements
Knowledge of basic machine operation, tools and measurement devices
Familiar with stereoscope, caliper, micrometers, gage pins and blocks
Manufacturing, mechanical and/or inspection experience
Familiarity with blueprints and reading specifications
Ability to discuss topics and communicate effectively with team members
