Being a Certified Nurse Midwife ensures safety and health of mother and child and identifies need for additional care. Works in conjunction with a practicing physician. Additionally, Certified Nurse Midwife requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Certified as Nurse Midwife. Requires Registered Nurse. Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). CNM with four years experience.
Ability to perform physical exams and assessments, give injections, phlebotomy, perform certain lab tests, staple removal, and wound care.
Effective communication skills when counseling patients and giving instructions regarding procedures, health care, and medications. Must perform under protocols and have the direct supervision of an M.D.
Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee.
