Certified Nurse Midwife provides professional care for patients with obstetric and gynecologic needs. Assists patients in labor and delivery, as well as postpartum care. Being a Certified Nurse Midwife ensures safety and health of mother and child and identifies need for additional care. Works in conjunction with a practicing physician. Additionally, Certified Nurse Midwife requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Certified as Nurse Midwife. Requires Registered Nurse. Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Certified Nurse Midwife's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Physical Requirements:
The employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop and reach. The employee must frequently lift and/or carry up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
Qualifications:
Certification by the American College of Nurse Midwives, the ACNM Certification Council, or a successor organization, American Midwifery Certification Board; possess a license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to practice nurse-midwifery in the State of West Virginia. Maintain current RN license for the state of West Virginia. Acquire and maintain privileges as an independent allied health professional at Charleston Area Medical Center. If eligible, maintain prescriptive authority through the WV Board of Nurses.
Basic Function:
