Kinze has an exciting opportunity for a student or entry-level welder looking to gain experience in production welding. This welding apprenticeship is designed to give a student hands-on exposure and experience with weld processes and techniques over 3 years.

Students must be enrolled in Kirkwood Affiliated Welding Academy Courses.

Position Duties :

• Work with qualified welders to learn welding, blueprint reading, and material handling techniques
• Gain experience with the operation of manual or semi-automatic welding and cutting equipment using the Gas Metal Arc Welding process (MIG) with Metal Cored and Solid wires, Plasma Arc Cutting, and Oxy Fuel Cutting.
• Operate and effectively use common hand and power tools including but not limited to; pneumatic grinder, wrenches, hammers, pliers, etc.
• Examine work pieces for defects and measure weldments with straightedges, tape measures or templates to ensure conformance with specifications
• May be involved in projects impacting Kinze’s safety, quality, delivery, or cost goals
• Must wear and use all required personal protective equipment.
• Assist with other tasks and projects as needed
