    Brief Summary of Work for this Position
    Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for , the Director of Resource Management for Business Affairs and Chancellor Divisions serves as the chief human resources and business officer of the Business Affairs and Chancellor Divisions, encompassing a $300M operating budget and well over 700 employees. This position develops recommendations for the most effective utilization of resources to enhance the operations within the Business Affairs and Chancellors Division.

    In addition, the Director aids in policy development short and long-range planning to include scenario forecasting for existing and new initiatives. This position will ensure practices and tools are developed and effectively communicated to any and all levels of the division to support compliance with policies and the efficient management of resources. This position has divisional oversight for the execution of several budget and allocation processes, including enrollment growth, special funds, and tuition and fee rate proposals.

    The position operates independently in a diverse environment where the nature of both divisions is complex in the types of services offered, funding sources utilized, and daily issues encountered. This position must be able to handle multiple and changing priorities on a daily basis and resolve financial and administrative issues on short notice.

    This position has authority to plan, organize and implement job tasks related to the fiscal management of the division and to formulate and implement policies and procedures in collaboration with division leadership. The position has authority to make decisions necessary in the daily management of both division's finances.
    Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
    Master's degree in a relevant field with at least three years of managerial experience education, OR a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or similar area of study with at least seven years of progressively responsible experience OR an equivalent combination of experience and education from which comparable skills and knowledge have been achieved.


    Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
    • Earned MBA or closely related degree or related professional certification, 5 years of progressive fiscal responsibility in higher education.
    • The ability to interpret and manage complex business processes, including resource allocation, budget management, and personnel management.
    • Experience with budget development.
    • Advanced financial modeling and analysis skills.
    • Advanced spreadsheet skills.
    • Ability to identify and convene stakeholders to ensure input and seek consensus on complex issues.
    • Knowledge of and experience with ERP software such as Banner and People Admin.
    • Excellent interpersonal and superior communication skills, with evidence of building collegial relationships.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to succinctly present complex issues to a variety of constituents.
    • Ability to prioritize, manage and successfully complete multiple tasks.
    • Ability to interpret and apply complex laws and regulations to operations.
