Direct Care Responsibilities:
Crisis Intervention- provide emotional and spiritual support to families, patients, and staff members in the event of death, fatal diagnosis, and other life-changing moments.
Counsel Patients and Staff-provide counseling services and spiritual guidance to everyone within the hospital. Available to answer questions regarding end-of-life concerns and other spiritual issues while maintaining confidentiality regarding all consultations and counseling sessions.
Perform Rituals -organize, conduct and assist in spiritual rituals, such as the administration of the last rites or other rituals as requested. Pray with patients, families, and staff members, and sometimes perform certain rituals outside of the hospital, as appropriate.
Conduct Rounds - conduct regular rounds of hospital units where critically ill patients are treated, such as the intensive care unit. Available to meet/ round on any patient as requested by medical/ nursing providers
Debriefing- organize and conduct debriefings after traumatic events to ensure the psychological and spiritual safety of staff members.
Administrative Responsibilities:
Liaise with Religious Community -serve as a community liaison between the medical facility and local religious organizations and churches
Committees- Lead the ethic committee to ensure a continued ability to review ethical concerns from hospital staff members. Participate on the Performance Improvement committee and other committees as requested.
Confidentiality- Ensure that all employee spiritual, psychological and related matters are kept in the strictest confidence. Ensure all patient service is appropriately documented.

Education:

License(s)/Certification(s):
| Ordained and in good standing with religious association.
Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
